Well, we did it. We no longer have satellite t.v.
The original plan was to cut off service after the World Series was done, but neither of us got around to making the phone call, then the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special was getting close, then it was Thanksgiving… but no more. The call was made. The deed is done. Eighty-five bucks will be saved a month. Lloyd called on speakerphone and when the option “to suspend your service, press five” was announced, I snapped the photo.
It’s sooooo not a burden, though! I have a Hulu Plus account and we have an Apple TV, so there is plenty of entertainment to waste our time.
It’s going to be alright, Lauren. It’s going to be alright.

No satellite or cable here for 13 years. We have survived it. We do, however, get the PBS stations for Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. Ya, we’re livin’ it up!

We just had a conversation about this in our house. My boys said, “When we move back to the States we can get Cartoon Network!” and I said, “Only if we pay for it!” It’s been nice not having a TV bill. I’m not sure what to do. I’ll stay glued to this blog to see if you survive.
