And that was the sound of my eyes exploding.
Warning! Whining ahead! This weekend my kids sing for Saturday night service, and I have to do some snack making and setting up/tearing down work around it. There’s half a day. Sunday is Dedication Day at both services and I am making a short presentation that will be shown on the new screen, along with a different slideshow that will run in the narthex. Saturday morning is set-up and testing to make sure everything works. Oh, and I have to make my kids’ Christmas presents. Oh, and there’s an evening thing on Sunday. (But at least I will get to see Deborah and Rachel!)
So, while I am nearing the overwhelmed stage, I am keeping a pretty good grip on things. Yes, I understand that everyone is busy at this time of year, but let’s not forget that I am a human that really, really likes time in front of the television, so this is definitely cramping my style. (Lloyd is busy, too. He’s making the kiosk app work for our new narthex. It is very, very quiet around here.)
I’m actually excited to do the slideshows, since that’s why I took all those photos during the renovation phase. (It was a great excuse for poking around in the construction: “I’m documenting!”) It also means that maybe I can clear those off my iPad when it’s over. Currently I have 2, 267 photos on my iPad. Most of them arfor school, but it’s getting a little out of control. The worst part is that I have to dig around for the specific church photo I’m thinking of, and the thumbnail pictures are a little over a centimeter square. All that scrolling is making my eyes hurt and my stomach a little seasick.
It will all get done. It will all get done. In the meantime, enjoy this photo of some committee members watching the new screens go up and down. We are easily entertained.

Those screens are cool. I like motorized things.

Make sure you stress the left side screen- St John Baptismal Font side works first to show the importance of baptism… the St. John guillotines -- off with their sin!

Wow, my beard is getting really long.

That is really cool! I love how the screens hide behind the rafters….very good designing!

My fav part was the “…LLOYD” loud whispered. You didn’t even sound annoyed. Well done.

Is St. John going to give Joel Osteen a run for his money?

The best part is that we can have two games on at once.
