The light is out in my closet. I thought it was just the bulb but when I went to change it, the ‘burnt out’ one flickered back on and the new bulb didn’t come on. I think there is something wrong with the actual socket, but it will be a good long time before I get around to investigating the situation since I only notice it at six in the morning. My current solution is a little flashlight, and if thought I would share with you the best way to light an entire room with a flashlight. (Good thing I took these photos when we got that super-bright flashlight for Christmas.)
Here’s the shocker: shine it at the ceiling.
The light is more evenly distributed. This is useful for situations where you need general ambiance. I figured it out when we had a tornado drill at school. Shining the flashlight around makes a Beacon of Blinding Frighteningness, which is no good. Shining it on the ceiling gives the room an air of Expensive Restaurant.
Example: direct and scary:
Soft and inviting:
This flashlight also comes with a ‘lantern’ mode, which also translates into ‘The Spot I Can’t Not Look At’.
Ouch, my retinas! Here endeth the lesson.
