Woo-hoo! The taxes are finished and it’s only April 13th!!
I thought for sure that Monday night was going to be a tense evening of me bringing Lloyd lemonade while he asked for receipts that I’ve lost, but this year it went as smooth as butter. Seriously, I think we were finished in an hour and a half or less. As Lloyd said, “This is the 10th year we’ve done TurboTax online, so it knows a lot about how we do our taxes.”
So, before I rest on my lemonade-making laurels, let’s all hope that he really pushed ‘send’ this year. (Did we tell you that story? How last year around tax time we got a letter from the IRS that said we still needed to submit the previous year’s tax return? That was surreal.)
Are your taxes done? Do you want Lloyd and I to come do them? I’ll bring lemonade.

Congratulations! Whenever I do our taxes I feel like I should pay myself whatever it would cost an accountant to do it. Or, I’ll give myself a deal and only charge half of what an accountant would cost. Since I’ve never used an accountant I figure $500 would be fair. But then would I have to report that $500 as income next year?

Can’t you do it ‘in kind’ -- like in new shoes or donuts? (Lloyd will do your taxes for donuts. Mmmmmmm……)

I have stalled out on taxes because I don’t know if I was a non-resident of Hawaii or a part time resident. I think both make sense in my situation.

My taxes are done. I just wish I could give more.
And Lloyd…you look so happy doing your taxes (knock that off will ya)! You could easily be the poster boy for Turbo Tax!
