Today did not go as I had envisioned. It all worked out in the end, but in a nutshell:
* Was going to go to an auction with Lloyd. We decided that he would go in with Sam and I would follow with Rachel later, giving me time to work on a presentation for Wednesday.
* Seven minutes into working on said presentation, iPad started acting funny. I decided to start the update.
* While waiting for update to process, found out that a co-worker was in the hospital to have his appendix out. Went to visit him and then to work to rework the schedule. (My director is on vacation.) Came home, and the iPad appeared to be frozen.
* Went to Lincoln with Rachel, but I drove the Prius. The Prius is weird. It starts weird, it shifts weird, it accelerates weird and it brakes weird. I’m sure I’ll get used to it, but it was weird.
* In Lincoln, Rachel and I each retrieved our husbands and Lloyd and I went back to the auction. I explained my iPad problems and Lloyd said I might just lose everything on it. Great.
* It was A MILLION BILLION DEGREES at the auction and the humidity was at ONE THOUSAND PERCENT. Lloyd kept telling me we wouldn’t be there much longer but he was full of lies.
* Afterward we went to his school to work on wiring stuff. Good grief, is there NO END to the wiring stuff? For someone who has no idea how to wire or what wiring does or works, I have certainly participated enough.
So there’s that. The iPad (thankfully!) did not lose everything, but you can bet your bottom dollar I’m trying to load important information to safe places right now.
I hope your Saturday was pleasant!

I’m glad to hear you didn’t lose everything on your iPad. Every once in a while I think about how old my laptop is and I wonder when the Big Crash will come.

Good that you didn’t lose everything. Whew!
Today is my parents’ 50th anniversary celebration!

Just out of curiosity…what are you using to back up your stuff?
Lauren says
Um, right now I am putting the iMovies on YouTube, then deleting them from the iPad. I have some Keynotes that need to go to the ‘cloud’, but I don’t know how to do that. The photos are a little problem. I have over 2,000 right now. After I upload those iMovies I can delete the photos from last year, but I don’t know about the rest. You can upload them to Flickr, but it takes a long time. I don’t know. (Can you sense a little panic and frustration in my typing?)
Lauren's dad says
The Prius drives weird because it requires a computer nerd to drive it!

…. or at least one in the passenger seat to explain it to me. 🙂
