I got those stupid cookies baked. I don’t even like eating cookies. The only reason I like making them is so I can decorate them, tie-dyed fashion.
This year I found a way to be twice as efficient and keep the bowl of mixed colors from muddying up too fast – dip one cookie in plain icing, then dip a second in the colors, but catch the drippy ‘ribbon’ with the plain white cookie! I discovered this too late. The first ones were very distinct in their colors, like little rainbow stripes, but as the icing stiffened up the stripes became less distinct. Oh, well.

I have to make about a million cookies for our youth group cookie walk. Thanks for the inspiration!

I would say that this made the process at least 28% more efficient.

Oh, and that corn syrup I bought? I added a little to my icing (lemon juice and powdered sugar) but apparently not enough. My cookies are not shiny this morning. :/

They are beautiful!
I had to make cookies for our Live Nativity/Chili Supper tonight. My recipe made way too many cookies. I put almond flavoring in the frosting. Not sure about that. Lemon juice sounds better.

I think I’m going to try to make cookies today. I do like to frost them with a knife, but it takes a long, long time. Maybe I could just hire some neighborhood children…

Stained glass cookies. Very pretty.
