It was a busy weekend. The CDC kids sang at the Saturday evening service and this was also the weekend where St. John celebrated the completion of the big renovation projects. Saturday morning Lloyd and I went to church to work on the audio-visual situation, since we made a little 3-minute video to show and needed the sound to function. (Boba Fett was the secret USB drive.) Lloyd did all the thinking man stuff while I went back and forth between pressing ‘play’ for him and then running downstairs to a little health fair that the school was putting on. (Fun fact: I did Zumba for 20 minutes and did not die! Other fun fact: The free massage lady says that one of my ribs is detached from my spine. I might need to get that checked out.)
Anyway, the children sang, I only goofed up three things, and the video worked! Woo-hoo!
Since we had to go to all three services, I spent most of the last two in the narthex. It gave me time to photoshop an idea. We have this lovely new space that is actually a little plain. Somebody has permanently put up two pictures in a spot where I think they are too low, but if you move them, then there are two more holes in the wall. I think a picture rail up by the ceiling would be a good idea because you could switch out art on a regular basis – no holes involved, just hang them by chains or dental floss or whatever.
Here’s the real deal:
Here’s the fake picture rail:
Here it is ‘in action’:
Heck I think I’ll just sneak over there and put something up. I don’t have any actual picture rail, but I do have a lot of leftover lumber and assorted pvc tubes in the basement…… Oh! and a shower curtain rod!

That Boba Fett flash drive is really old, isn’t it? I was just wondering the other day if flash drives fail after a while. I’ve washed one of mine twice and it’s still working. Is there nothing inside that can break? I know there are no moving parts, but it seems like after a while something would wear out or stop working.
Lloyd says
In my experience they fail randomly. Usually when they contain the only copy of something.

I think that is a great idea! I may mention something to somebody, if you’re not already passing this on.
Lauren says
I sent it on to others, but talk it up! “Y’know, what this space really needs is a picture rail. Don’t let Lauren do it.”
