Dear Mom (Lauren’s mom),
So, you already know that your daughter is a total craphead who leaves holidays until the last possible second, or perhaps waits for them to completely go past? Well, yesterday as I delivered the last Mother’s Day card to the preschoolers I told myself, “Now don’t forget to order flowers for Mom.” Well, we had dinner with a friend who was back in town to pick up her daughter from Concordia, and afterward I went to bed early so I forgot. Strike one.
Strike two: I was at work by 6 and told myself, “After I get everything ready I will quick order flowers before children arrive!”…. but Aspen and Haven showed up right away. “I’ll do it at nap!”
Strike three: Jack wouldn’t sleep. *sigh*
I got home late, ate dinner, and in a panic realized I needed to do this before we went to help a friend’s mom set up her computer. Being too late to call the actual store, I used an online ‘service’ and realized that when I paid with my Paypal account, they were using MY address as the shipping address! NOOOOOOOOO!
I called the company number…. and I’m pretty sure I was talking to an outsourcing place in India. The guy sounded like he was in a crowded restaurant. I kept asking, “Is all that noise on your end?” “Yes, ma’am.” After being put on hold SEVERAL times, he said he had it all worked out.
So, in a nutshell, if the flowers come to MY house, I am sorry. If they come to you, I really want a picture because I am sure they are going to be a disaster.
So, so sorry to ruin your Mother’s Day,
Lauren
