Beth had a Norwex party at her house this past Tuesday. Of all the selling parties I’ve been to, this one was actually pretty interesting. In a nutshell, Norwex sells really hard-core microfiber cleaning cloths that let you clean with water. Sounds pretty good.
I’ve always been a proponent of using less soap anyway. “Water is the universal solvent” and all that. Jessica (our lady) showed how microfibers clean mechanically, not chemically – they pick up the junk and trap it.
I did buy a set: one cleaning cloth and one polishing cloth. Lloyd seems to really love cleaning his glasses, so the polishing one might be for him. I’m actually interested in seeing how well they work. Until they arrive, though, I remembered that I have a microfiber cloth. It’s not the amazing kind, but it certainly doesn’t clean anything when it’s in the drawer. Yesterday and today I wiped stuff down. Well, what do you know? Those things are cleaner. Crazy!
We have a microfiber cloth at school, too. I used it today to scrub some things down and was amazed that – lo and behold – they are cleaner. Tomorrow we have a couple of knuckleheaded school-age boys that don’t get to go on the field trip due to some poor manners, so they have to stay with me while my guys nap. Guess what I think they will get to do?
Prepare to be scrubbed, CDC.

I’ve been using a microfiber cloth to wipe off my dry-erase board. It works pretty well. Other than that, I’m a pretty big fan of chemicals for cleaning. My newest favorite is isopropyl alcohol.

Yea…amazing stuff, right?
