A blizzard is a’comin’ our way tonight. Normally the Child Development Center is open when the schools are closed, but when the weather people say things like ‘travel will be nearly impossible’, that means that parents should keep their children at home. (Of course, by taking this course of action, Murphy’s Law will make it be an inch of rain or so, but that’s alright: I’ll take it.)
The only other time we closed – during an ice storm long ago (Lloyd was still working at Oetting’s Detasseling, I believe), we called all of the families one by one because the internet was just something that AOL was trying to get you to believe in. Things are much simpler now. Messages were put on our Facebook page, website, and emailed to parents. I asked a question, and they were funny with their replies.

How exciting! I hope the day is full of wonderful relaxation.

When I got the text last evening, I blasted the Hallelujah Chorus. The girls came running up the stairs, and we did our own stirring theatrical version of that joy-filled song! Woohoo!
Deborah says
Also, I am very, very happy for you!
Lauren says
That is hilarious!
