Well, the storm started late, but we did get a significant amount of snow. I fell asleep on the couch last night and woke up this morning to thunder and lightning. That’s right – thundersnow. Being a Nebraskan, I promptly rolled over and went back to sleep. Nature oddity, schmature schmoddity.
It was a true blizzard, with really strong winds. It splattered snow on the windows, obscuring the view and confusing the cats.
The day was spent lazily puttering. I processed a couple loads of laundry, did a little baking, then ventured outside to check the snow totals. It was quite beautiful.
Not too shabby.
The big tree in the pot by the window got knocked over because it was so filled with wet snow. We had to do some shaking to get it to stand back up. I think we might need to cut that tree down.
Back inside, it was time for eats. Fresh bread and a juice snow icee.
Oh, and don’t forget the catnap.
I think I could get on board with mid-week Second Saturday.

I’m glad you posted pictures. Your snow looks a lot wetter than the stuff we had.
When I planted that tree by your window, I thought it was a bush. It got much taller than advertised. Being planted in a barrel doesn’t help its stability very much either. If you do cut it down, I bet it will burn very nicely 🙂

We will probably end up burning it down. Just kidding. We gave it enough of a shake that most of it (and the snow) ended up down my neck.

I just got done driving Lauren to school. She was worried that there wouldn’t be any cleared off spot to park the truck. As it turns out, I’m glad we drove the truck. There were several spots where I think the Prius might have gotten high centered.
Our road is always one of the last ones plowed, and so there’s always a ridge of snow at the end of the street. Trucks pack the ridge down, so it becomes passable, but not if you’re driving a Prius.

Juice snow icee —- mmmm.

Thundersnow is the best! We get that here from time to time.
