We had big plans for Saturday. Lloyd needed to get some stuff done at his school, so I dropped him off and then went to go do a bunch of errands. One was stopping by a tree-cutting place to get a load of logs for the new playground. The log guy, Larry, is a prince. No pictures, of course.
Next was a stop at Menards to get some lumber for my coat hooks, then Aldi’s and Sam’s Club for food, then back to Lincoln Lutheran to eat. And then…..
The coat hooks I want for my room are based on the hooks in the Civic Center’s meeting rooms.
I like how simple and clean the look. Someday when mine are installed I’ll show you why this is an extra-great idea, but for now I’ll just share with you my joy of power tools. Since John Roeber retired, Lincoln Lutheran no longer has a shop teacher, and most of the the shop has been turned into a new science lab. There is still a little space, though, and I used the drill press to make holes for the peg, and the table saw to cut out a little slice in the back for name tags. (It will all make sense when you see the final product.)
I needed the holes to be drilled at a slight angle, so I really Laurened it up and got all scientific and professional. I rested the board on a pencil.

Does that pencil say “something…something…help you”?
Ha! How appropriate!
And I endorse your use of the pencil to get your slight angle.

Can’t wait to see it up.
