Lloyd had services at the nursing home and we were also on communion set-up duty. Every time those coincide I think that we should ask someone to adjust the schedules…. and the the day is over and I forget all about it.
Anyway, I skipped out on his second service so I could set up the altar. As I was placing things, I noticed the pastor’s stuff that sits on one of the chairs between them – cups of water, some tissues, some hand sanitizer. The cups were balanced on one of the guestbooks. Every time I’ve looked at that I’ve thought about making a nice wooden tray with compartments for their stuff – something that matches the chairs. Well, we all know that will never happen.
We did some grocery shopping at Wal*Mart after church, though, and I stopped in the automotive section. Bingo! We were able to sneak this onto the chair during communion take-down. May I present…..
That’s right, the Clerical Console 2000. Ready to hold all your personal church service supplies. We stocked it with Captain America tissues and Lemonhead candy.
The lights were turned out, so the photos aren’t the greatest.
They thought it was pretty funny. No hurt feelings if they get rid of it, either. 🙂

Ha! I like it! Is that phone just for the picture, or did one of them actually put their phone in there? I feel weird if my phone isn’t in my pocket.

It was on the chair. I relocated it. 🙂
Mom says
Nice!
Kristi says
A perfect month for such a nice gesture.
Did your church get rid of the pews? Why the chairs instead?
Lauren says
When we put in the fire suppression and new lighting a couple of years ago, all the pews had to be taken out anyway. We put them back, but the front two (three?) rows are chairs that can be moved when we have handbells or concerts. At least, that’s what the pastors in the cushy chairs tell us…..
