….. except that Brad is gone. I drove him to the Omaha airport today. We got there early which was great for me – I love airport gift shops. We looked around the shops, ate apple fritters in the food court, then said our goodbyes. I watched him opt out of the screening process and admired his rebelliousness.
Then I drove around Omaha! Woo-hoo! I am still on the Quest for a good cubby solution, so I drove around and looked at things. It was bliss. (No cubbies were purchased, but I got a few other things. Future post fodder.)
Back in Seward, Lloyd invited people to Sam and Rachel’s to play board games Sam and Rachel had people over to hang out. I stopped by to encourage the game-playing to stop, but was ineffective. Sorry, Other Sommerers.
Beth had Christmas gifts for us and gave me the fantastic chopper you see in the banner picture. It’s a knife and a cutting board all in one! Fabulous!
We also got to play with the virtual reality headset. It was so interesting, but it did make me a bit woozy.
Oh, and in the interest of New Year Resolutions, I drank two glasses of water today and did one push-up.

“…I drank two glasses of water today and did one push-up.” That sounds like the ending two “The 12 Days of Christmas.” Carry on!
Kristi says
“to” not “two”

Who conquered the world in Risk? I don’t know if I’ve ever played that.

Doesn’t IKEA have cubbies?
Lauren says
Yes -- I just need time to go there. 🙂
Lauren's mom says
Where is IKEA?
Lauren says
Kansas City. maybe in a couple of weeks I’ll go. 🙂

Have you checked out The Container Store in Omaha yet? My sister always raved about the one in San Diego.
Lauren says
Yes! I looked over their options but it’s too pricey and would need more cobbling together than I’m willing to do right now. It’s a great store, though, and I highly recommend a visit!
