So, months after my horrible, yet useful prototype was built, a new version has been installed, and it’s perfect.
Remember the prototype?
It was functional, but so much steam had made it, um…. rotten? Particle board is not a long-term building solution. The new one, though?
It’s a thing of beauty. News flash: I didn’t make it.
I did draw the design for it, though. The nice people who made it really took off and added all kinds of extras like the shelf and the backsplash and the surround. Um, I guess I drew a slanted horizontal line.
Every day is better than the last. That’s what I keep telling myself. This drainboard makes the end of the day easier (when I do the dishes), so that is a good thing.

Wow! That is beautiful!

Wait…
YOU do design work and the dishes??? How is this possible?!?!?!?
I thought I had it rough in New Orleans going from being a regular teacher to the vice principal, from that to being the janitor, and then from there on certain weeks, the maintenance man.
I can understand better why naps, and cuddly cats, and quiet weekends are so cherished in your house.
Or am I putting something onto you that isn’t true because I didn’t read this right?
Lauren says
I think tomorrow’s post might answer this. 🙂
Brad says
The permanent version is beautiful. Good job. And slanting it toward the sink was a good idea.
