I had to get some things done at school on Sunday. I baked that dumb cake to pay for the neighborhood, worked on some paperwork, then got a couple of panels on the walls.
Then, I messed around. For St. Patrick’s Day, Melanie – our school-age program coordinator – turned a hole on one of the stumps into a leprechaun door by posting a ‘welcome’ sign and pinning on a doorknob. The doorknob was immediately ruined by the little kids, an the sign almost made it until the end of the day.
I decided to fix it, since my guys took part in the ruining. I bought some Sculpy polymer clay, made a door, then read how to do it.
I was going for ‘wood-grain’, but it’s more ‘bacon’. Not a bad trade-off.
There’s a bunch of glue behind it, but I tacked some nails in for good measure. I hope it lasts more than a day.

I love it! Garden centers all have sections dedicated to “fairy gardens” these days. It’s full of tiny furniture and figurines. People set them up in planters and containers usually. Seeing a tiny door “in the wild” like that is fun.
