Stop the air-filling

May 17, 2017

I went to bed kind of early last night, so I missed making a post. Let’s just have some though-vomit regarding my speech.

Lately I find myself repeating phrases. Examples: “It’s pretty hot today. Pretty hot.” “It’s a beautiful day! Beautiful!”

I need to stop doing that. I am aware of it, so that is half the battle, but I am consciously trying to stop filling the air with more words. Say it once, Lauren. Say it once.

Hehe… That makes me think of my answer to “How are you doing?” I know it’s grammatically correct to say: “I’m doing well” but I can’t seem to bring myself to say that. I continue to say “I’m doing good” or “I’m good”.

The newest phrase in our household is “… and such.”

I was buying groceries and such.
Oh, I was cleaning up my bedroom toys and such.
