Our staff attended Concordia’s early childhood conference today. The keynote speaker did a nice job, but for the ending session I was sitting in the back (on the floor), and two chicks were talking beside me the whole time. At my second session? Two ladies in front of me were talking the last ten minutes. I need to bring a water gun next time.
Mrs. Royuk was the luncheon speaker. Beth introduced her! She got some good laughs. 🙂
Elaine was great. Her message was wise, meaningful, sweet and also funny. She had us work on the different pieces of the puzzle of life that God gives us, and gave us a puzzle of our own to complete with information about our own lives. One of my co-workers said she was going to put hers up in her classroom. 🙂
I had a Bad Friend moment. When Mrs. Royuk was talking about the difficult things in life, she mentioned having a sick child. I had no idea who she was talking about. I asked Beth afterward, and it turns out that it was Brad. He had chicken pox twice, pneumonia, an oxygen tent – all before he was two. Huh. I …. might have known that before? I am very forgetful, but that seems like a bad thing to not remember. I called him later to apologize.
Anyway, on to the big news. I was home by 4:30, I did not go back to the center, and…. drum roll…. I took a nap! Best day ever!
Brad says
Yay! I’m so glad you got a nap!
And don’t feel bad about not remembering I was sick. I don’t remember it either.
