Gearing up for the professionals

August 19, 2017

Gah. This again.

The summer sun is SO BRIGHT in the kitchen in the mornings. Our cook is a lovely woman and has never complained, but I just feel so bad for her. The light comes in the top windows and blinds her and then it comes through the bottom windows and bounces off the floor.

So I put up some ugly foam core boards in the very top windows and went to Lincoln to talk to some professionals. They’re going to work up some estimates for real solutions and we’ll see how this goes.

Help me out, Hannah.

Hoo. That is a lot of sunshine. Does it get hot in that area in the middle of the day?

  2. Brad Said on:

You could just spray paint the windows black. That would save you a lot of money.

We put some film on our windows to cut the sun. It did the job. It was not hard to do. I do not know the name of it.
