The title is a nod to how very little I am doing for the Marxhausen art shows. Lloyd is doing the lion’s share of the work and I am standing around, holding a rag, feebling asking if I should dust something. Does that come across as pathetic as I feel?
On Saturday I had to go to Lincoln, and he asked if I could find some black mantle-style shelves that could go on the gallery walls to have are at different levels – not just on tabletops. Well, it turned out that Lincoln was fresh out of any of the kind he needed. Menards, however, had some choose-your-own-adventure click-together shelves that were on sale. I stood there for a looooong time trying to envision how many of each kind I would need for the kind I wanted to make, and it turned out they didn’t have enough of one length. I had to make do with a pyramid style:
The pieces connect via slots, and I got out a mallet to hammer it all together…. while we were watching t.v. It was loud.
These are very cheap. They have that thin vinyl-over-particle board and they scratch if you look at them wrong. I glued felt to each shelf so the art will at least have a non-distracting surface underneath, then Sharpied over the scratches.
The shelves are each covered with a napkin until we can get the whole thing to the gallery. Ralph has tried to become a pudgy piece of living, shedding art. No, Ralph. No.

Ha! I had to go back to the banner picture after I read the post so I could understand what I was seeing. 🙂

Good preparation! Does Lloyd still have my check?
Lauren says
He does. We haven’t done anything with it yet. I’ll bring you something for your birthday. 🙂

Whoops. I forgot to make a new post for today. That’s ok -- nothing exciting happened anyway.
