I have a little boy who is my constant companion and ‘yes’ man. He agrees with everything I say in a sweet little gravely voice. I’ll need to fix a book and he’ll say, “Yep. You just need some tape.” I’ll mess up writing and have to cross something out and he’ll say, “Yep. It’s fixable.” (One of our class mottos.)
The other day another child asked me if I wanted to play soccer. I politely declined and said, “Sorry, I’m not kicking balls today.” My yes man amiably added, “Yep. ‘Cause you’re bad at it.”
Hmmph. Accurate. Hurtful, but accurate.
Today I was trying to secure a super-unsafe playground structure we were making and ripped off a piece of duct tape. “Yep. That’s why they call it duck tape. It sounds like a duck when you get some.”
Where does he come up with this stuff?

I like little kid quotes. You should make it a regular feature. “Kid Quote Tuesday” or Monday. I’m always confused about what day it is here compared to there because of the time change. It’s only 5:42pm there, so I guess it’s Tuesday still.

I didn’t get a post written last night. I stayed at school to do some paperwork and then just vegged at home. Sorry, guys. 🙂
