Only an ‘after’

I’ve been trying to take care of some loose ends at work and have been doing a terrible job of it. Oh well, slight forward motion is better than none, except when it means that in the future you have to undo the half-***ed job you just did, so maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about.

When we designed the building, we knew there was a little nook in one of the toddler rooms that was a supervision issue. No big deal – we just put up a gate. A very, very expensive made-by-Amish-people gate.

It has worked out alright, except that this year’s group can’t seem to keep their hands off it. They try to climb it or use it like a ladder. Eventually the paper strips should be interesting cloth weavings, but this has been working out pretty well.

Also, there is a cabinet that is in the corner. It wasn’t meant to go there, we just had an extra. It’s not properly installed yet, and hasn’t been for months. Tonight I checked behind its base and there were soooo many toys that were stuck there. I took them out, then temporarily ‘attached’ some baseboard. I won’t go into the details, but it involved some screws, washers, duct tape and paint so that I wouldn’t actually glue the stuff or poke holes in it.
