See? I wasn’t lying. We needed a pencil sharpener in our workroom.
Here’s how I find studs in the building: I look at old photos.
The sharpener was just going to miss a stud, so I found a piece of scrap wood n the basement, screwed it on, then varnished it. One side is not square. We call that ‘live edge’.
In other ‘fixing’ news, the door to our downstairs guest room has not closed in years. I would keep the cats out of there with a string looped over a nail on the doorframe. The latch didn’t line up with the hole.
Well, I took a metal file to it. One-sixteenth of an inch later:
Ta-da!
Lloyd's Cousin Sam says
Can you fit a new pencil between the wall and sharpener? More importantly, what app did you use to make that pic with Uncle Mahlon?
Lauren says
Plenty of room for pencils -- that’s just a little old bulletin board on the left side.
The app is called Prisma. It doesn’t always cooperate.
Kristi says
That’s the best kind of pencil sharpener. Then I grind out my anger while I sharpen the pencils down to stubs.
Jill says
Clearly I need one of those pencil sharpeners to grind my anger. I have plenty.
