How did he know her name?

April 26, 2018

So, after stories and while we wait for lunch to arrive we usually just have some chitchat. One of my girls raised her hand and proceeded to tell me the entire plot of a movie she watched while she was home sick. (She kind of sounds like Minnie Mouse, if Minnie Mouse was from Minnesota.) “so, in the movie? It had a lot of fighting? And I t had Batman? And Wonder Woman with her special golden rope? And a man with a green ring and when he turned it three old ladies came out of it and they did something?”

Emmett interrupted with his low, raspy voice, “Bea Arthur? From the Golden Girls?”

What the what? What are parents letting kids watch nowadays? Superhero movies I can understand, but a quartet of sassy old ladies in Florida? It was hard for me not to laugh.

There’s an episode of Teen Titans Go that they talk about the Golden girls and Bea Arthur’s sass. I’m sure that’s where it came from.

Haha! That’s funny. One of the cable channels does Golden Girl marathons almost every night. I’ve turned to it before. It makes me feel nostalgic. Did I watch the show when it first ran, or does it just remind me of all the sit-coms from the 80’s?
