My magnificent failures

June 20, 2018

… That should be the title of my autobiography. I think I said long ago that the teepee was not going to work, and it surely didn’t. Oh, well. It keeps the cats out.

When the rain comes, it FILLS UP that sandbox, and there have been many mornings I’ve either bailed it out alone or with the help of some school-age heros. This evening, I tried siphoning it with a hose. It worked, but verrrrrrryyyyy slowly. I checked on it after half an hour and it had only gone down an inch. I left it to drain overnight.

…. and it is supposed to rain……

Maybe the siphon will keep up with the rain.
Hey -- maybe when there is a prediction of rain, you should fill up the sandbox with a hose, then start the siphon and let it run overnight. Then rain would never fill the box!

What about using an upside kiddie pool? You can weight it down with rocks…
