It was hot.
Like, Sommerer family reunion hot.
I woke up delightfully late (8 o’clock) got up, ate breakfast, showered and went for my 10:00 shift at the art gallery. As it turns out, the schedule had changed and I didn’t have to be there until 12. Lloyd and I walked around hanging up posters, then got a lemonade, then realized we missed Brent talk about his house at the Civic Center, dang it.
We all worked our shifts at the gallery and then went to the parade. It was hot. Seriously, it was just so hot and humid that none of the activities even sounded good to do. There was some weird delay in the middle of the parade so it went even longer than last year. What made me irritable was that one automotive company – I shall not say its name, nor will I ever call them for my automotive needs -had about 12 vehicles in a row. No one needs that.
We had a picnic at Brent* and Sandra’s, then home to shower and conk out on the sofa. Very nice way to celebrate our nation’s birthday.
*Yes, that did say ‘Grant’ earlier. You can thank my crazy autocorrect and lack of proofreading for that kind of quality publishing.

Also, because a storm was brewing, they shot off the fireworks a little after 9 instead of starting them at 10. Fortunately, we have a good view from our house, but I’m sure there were plenty of people that missed it.
And thanks for cheering for St. John’s float. It was miserably hot.

Oh Lauren….it was so hot here yesterday too! I’m a constant, murmuring, broken record: I HATE summer! I HATE summer!
But YAY for good food & friends!!

It was soooo hot. And humid. That really made it miserable. It gets hot on Maui, but not humid. And in the evening, ocean breezes cool the air.

It was hot here, too. We just stayed home and ate corn on cob out of garden. At least we were not in the humid heat. Parking in Jeff would have been bad and walking to the shows would not have been pleasant.
