Friday is our interim director’s last day before she heads back home. She hss shared with us throughout the year that she enjoys quilting. That meant that our parting gift would be easy to figure out – quilting stuff! There’s only one slight problem, and that would be my lack of skill.
Has that ever stopped me before? Heck, no! It’s just a fabric sandwich isn’t it? We had the children write their names on squares of fabric and then they helped stitch it all together. It’s not perfect, but it’s just fine.
I only had white thread, so we Laurened it by using permanent markers to color-correct it. (You can also do this with scuffed shoes.) (Or pants.) (Or really anything.)
My friend Kate found a wonderful quote and had a plaque made.
We hope she enjoys the gifts, and thinks well of us in her new ventures.

Way to go! I like the smallness of it, too.
Mom says
Such a lovely gift. I love the many hand prints. She had her hands on the children as they grew.

Aww… that’s so sweet. I’m sure she loves it. And it made a memory for the kids as well
