Fires & showers

August 18, 2018

I slept in a little bit this morning, then woke up to go have Council Fire. The whole time I thought it would be a good opportunity to take a photo, but my iPad was upstairs and I was very lazy. I made bacon eggs and toast over an open flame and ate it with a cup of instant coffee and was happy as a clam.

When I came back inside to take a shower, it turned out that Lloyd was cleaning like a mad man upstairs. Though it wasn’t how I meant to spend my morning, we certainly got a lot done. Everything upstairs was put away, the carpets vacuumed, and many many baskets of laundry processed. The upstairs looks great. The downstairs? Different story.

I also needed to go to a bridal shower in the morning. I had already purchased a gift card, but forgot to get an actual card or something to go along with the card, and time was running short. I decided to wrap up one of my precious firelogs, and even happened to have some ribbon on hand so I could make it look nice. The bride likes rustic things, and she is marrying a firefighter, so it all worked out. I was proudest of my bow-making, since it involved a zip tie. God bless zip ties.

Back home, it was more laundry processing and then, and then….. a nap!! What a glorious day!

That sounds wonderful. Except for the cleaning part. But having things cleaned and put away sure sounds nice. I washed my bathroom rugs today, but that’s about all the cleaning I did.
