We order our lunches from the day school, and every so often I screw up my class count or someone else screws up theirs. I’ve always offered up my lunch to the slighted child, but our cook works her magic and everyone is fed. I don’t know how that happens, but it’s too much fate-testing for me. I needed a plan.
I would just get some t.v. dinners, but I don’t want to take up space in the freezer. Plus, those take five minutes or so to get hot, and I ain’t got that kinda time. I looked for some shelf-stable meals. One of them was a turkey and dressing combo, and we all know how that is my mostest favorite meal in the world! (If you didn’t know, well, now you do.) I bought a bunch.
I stayed late at work tonight and decided to just have one for dinner. It only took one minute, and when I peeled back the opaque plastic….. a circle of ‘turkey’ floated in a pool of glistening ‘gravy’ with no stuffing in sight. (I didn’t take a photo.) I cut through the ‘meat’ so I could eat it and it just kind of disintegrated into the mushy stuff underneath, which I assume was the bread. It was…. interesting, to say the least.
I just kept imagining that I was an astronaut. Astronauts can eat anything, right?

Perhaps you should get some Tang and heat it up. Hot Tang…just like the astronauts.
Brad says
Heh… I like how you use quotation marks for ‘gravy’ and ‘meat’.
