Soooo, there comes a point in the day when it’s just funny how bad it’s going. Let me see if I can sum up today.
Big, boomy thunder and lightning in the night.
Big, white fog in the morning. Treacherous travel for people coming into Seward for work. Some didn’t come until later. (Lloyd made it to Lincoln safely. Whew.)
Flooding occurring. Some staff can’t make it in.
Paper towel dispenser broken, then fixed.
It is 7:30 a.m.
Child barfs on carpet in entryway. Barf vac used by me.
Magnifying glass is thrown to ground and shattered. Glass swept up.
It is now 8:00.
*** Not so bad now. Staff makes it in. Accreditation team walks around. Rain all morning. We make it through.****
After nap, the sun is actually coming out! It’s nice enough to go out! I go out to siphon the foot of water out of the sandbox, and stupidly plant my foot in the water. Idiot. While siphoning, I accidentally drank some sandbox water. I might have swallowed a colony of germs.
Later, we discover that the City of Seward has asked people to limit water usage because the floodwaters are entering the sanitary sewer line. I wash the afternoon dishes in a minimal amount of water and sanitizer.
Lloyd brings a projector for a presentation tomorrow to some Concordia students.
This wasn’t well written, but at least it was written. Sorry for using present tense.
This is after four hours of slow draining.

There was a lot of alliteration in your post. I could have used it in my poetry unit at school.

I did not know about limiting water usage. I guess I’ll turn off my lawn sprinklers. 🙂

It’s horrible up in this neck of the woods as well. I posted pictures, but those don’t begin to show the amount of flooding that is ravaging our countryside.
