I left my iPad at work Thursday night, so I don’t really have any photos. Lloyd and I went to Lincoln in the morning so he could work on stuff at school. I worked some and ran a few errands. Back home we stopped at the CDC to deliver things and get some paintings and a scanner so he could do Marxhausen things. We went to church, which was lovely, and then back home. It was a quietly productive day.

Lloyd has had this little fan running non-stop in some computer closet for seven years, venting hot air or something. Anyway, it died this week. I very kindly gave him my little fan that I use for drying art or socks or whatever at work, and he brought his home.
I took it apart, cleaned what I could and oiled the heck out of it.
It works! It’s a bit rattly and will probably fall apart in a week, but I bet I can dry a few paintings with it.
Lights down, little phone.
Before we begin: My dad is having cataract surgery today, so prayers are welcome!
Ugh. My phone died. Weeks ago I was on the phone with Brad and I only heard every third word. I was walking home and had to sit down in somebody’s yard to get a decent connection. A while later, my sister called and we also had a terrible connection. I was on the road, so I figured it was a tower situation. I don’t use my phone very often, so it wasn’t a big deal. However, when I couldn’t talk to Lloyd, he made fun of me. A whole bunch. Way too much.
I got a new phone. Funny story: I walked into the Verizon store here in town and the lady said, “I’ve been expecting you.” I almost threw water at her to see if she was a witch, but she said she’s my neighbor’s daughter (all grown up now, so that’s going to be my reason for not knowing her), and she said a co-worker came in to get a new phone and told her about my phone woes.
I asked for the smallest flip phone they have, and she gave me this new giant. I hate it. I hate it so much.
I want my little phone. My little phone fits perfectly in my front pocket and is no bother at all. But it stopped working because Verizon tore down some old cell tower and now my adorable little phone is a relic.
Lloyd was really pushing for me to get the Palm, a tiny little smart phone, but I reasoned that 1) I will drop it often and don’t want that kind of stress in my life, and 2) I don’t need one more way to be addicted t the internet.
Back to Dad: Have a good surgery! (Is that appropriate to say?)
Roll out the spoons
Saturday there was a training at the CDC that I didn’t attend, but I opened the building and did some odd jobs. One of them was installing another siding silverware rack in the kitchen for the school age stuff.
It was on clearance, and this is why: there are supposed to be brackets to hold up the drawer, but the right side has upside-down brackets. Not a problem for the stupid and brave.
It wedged in pretty well, but it needed to be squeezed.
However, squeezing it with a wrench would have bent the rail itself, dang it.
Let’s Lauren this. That’s right – I have a teeny tiny c-clamp.
Done and done.
There! I just need some real dividers and it’ll be perfect.
Taxes – check
Sunday was a long, weird day. We went to late church so we could set up for communion, and afterward we went to Wal*Mart. By the time we got home, it was 1:30! Good grief!
After lunch, we napped for a bit and then Sam and Rachel brought Gracen over to mow. We had a nice visit while I took a stab at getting our tax papers out of the other room. Spoiler alert: They were the wrong papers.
After the visit. I napped again, then made dinner, then called my folks…. and then we started to do our taxes. At 8:00 on April 14th. (I say ‘we’, but I’m just in charge of making sure the papers are the right year.)
Anyway, at the time of this writing, 9:36, Lloyd has been silent for a long, long time. I assume that means he’s done.
