Lloyd has heard your pleas and yet they go unanswered. I’m sure you hate him for this, as do I.
My kids are making stone soup on Thursday. We’ve been studying plants and vegetables, so this seemed to be a good next step. Unfortunately the only vegetables that have been brought so far are carrots, so I hope those kids dig carrots in beef broth.
I went to Wal*Mart to get some non-carrot options, and also purchased this slap chop thing for a whopping five dollars.
It is, as you can imagine, not good. I would never use it to chop carrots (dang), and it probably can’t chop the one potato I have, but boy howdy, are those kids going to annihilate some mushrooms!
(Fun fact: I misspelled ‘annihilate’ so bad that spellcheck had no idea what I was typing.)

It will be gloriously messy and loud!
I should make stone soup at school. I wonder what seventh graders would bring….

I made Stone Soup every year when I taught kindergarten. I did get to where I assigned each child a veggie to bring so that it wouldn’t be just celery soup. Also, somehow, every year our principal would end up with the stone in his bowl!!
