Saturday Lloyd had to go to an auction, so I tagged along and ran a few errands. Afterward, I met up with some friends at a graduation party, then went to a cool furniture store. Back at home, the evening was nice and laid back.
After church on Sunday, Lloyd and I did our typical grocery shopping, eating, then a coma nap. When we woke up I said I had to get out of the house or I’d lose my mind. I know it’s hard to believe, but there’s only so much napping I can do and feel good about myself.
We drove to a place called Twin Lakes. It’s a ‘wildlife management area’, and apparently you can do primitive camping, but it’s not a place I could take the Prius and be by the water. It can only be reached by gravel roads, and it’s mostly for people who like to fish, but it was quiet and lovely and soul-soothing.
When we got home, Lloyd surprised me by going to the patio instead of inside. (He had a book.) I decided that a fire would be nice. It was cloudy and a little cold, and about half an hour into the fire the sky cleared, it warmed up, and we looked like idiots.
No matter, I made dinner over the fire and it was edible. My soul? Restored.

Twin Lakes is right by my parents. Their property is north of the road that goes to the lakes. The girls and I were at the farm last evening. It’s a beautiful place.

Yay for fire! I should build a firepit at school so I can have a place to make fires. Or maybe I’ll just come to your house.
