Toad in a Hole

I forgot to make a post last night. I also do not have my camera, so I’ll just describe what I’m eating and we’ll call that a ‘post’.

I bought a loaf of French bread on Tuesday and decided to use some of it for breakfast this morning. I sliced off a piece to make Toad in a Hole. I didn’t read how to do it – I mean, how hard can it be? Put a hole in a piece of bread, plop an egg in it while it fries?

Well, it turns out that it is a little difficult. My bread hole wasn’t big enough so the egg didn’t spread out enough to cook evenly before the toast got too dark. I put it on the plate, cut it into pieces, and runny egg went everywhere. I like a runny yolk, but this had runny whites. Bleh. I plopped the whole mess back in the pan to cook a little more and am now eating Frog in a Blender.
