My brother Mark and his son came up for a visit and it was wonderful. Unfortunately, I don’t have a cool phone and didn’t get enough photos, so you’ll Just have to trust me.
They had hoped to camp out at the lake, spots with electrical were all taken. Thankfully, I have lots and lots of electricity!
They set up the world’s most awesome tent in my yard. I was in heaven living vicariously through all of Mark’s cool gadgets. It was so cool, and I was only a tiny bit jealous. 🙂
The first evening, we went out to Runza and then over to Concordia where they had food trucks for dinner and then a movie on the lawn. They played the live-action version of Aladdin, and it was wonderful.
The next day, I let Matthew take the toaster for a spin and then we went out to the lake to see if they were just yanking our chains regarding the spots. Sure enough, it was pretty full. No photos, though.
We went out to eat, then home for a fire. I love my fire pit, but we needed to gather around for conversation and s’mores-making. Portable fire pit to the rescue! (Lloyd said he is looking forward to getting a new wheelbarrow.)
On Sunday, we went to church and then let Matthew have a few more turns with the toaster. It was a pretty fun time all ‘round!

Yay! What a fun weekend! That tent looks so cool! I love the idea of camping, but would rather be in a bed and have air conditioning.

Wow what a fun packed, full of events weekend for you! I’m diggn the “wheelbarrel” (that’s what i call it) fire pit! I’m curious of that chunk of wood…. what’s in the middle?

Did the police officer stop to talk with the young driver and ask for his license?

We so enjoyed our visit with the “most awesomest”{ Nebraska Aunt and Uncle!
Thanks for providing a green space to break out our tent, and an extension cord so I could use my C-PAP. Having a fan inside was a nice “glamping” amenity, but we thank God for giving cool nights.
The Boy still wants a Toaster of his own.
I’ll be loading a post of this trip from our point of view in the next couple of days. Give the Knuckleheads a skritch for us.

Looks like a fun weekend to me. Not everyone gets to drive a toaster!
