Sorry for ditching you all last week. The stomach thing was fairly quick, from Wednesday evening to mid-Friday. I was so, so tired on Thursday because I didn’t eat much and also didn’t drink any coffee, lest I …… accelerate…. the problem. I went home early on Thursday and slept so, so long. I felt much better Friday, but was asleep by 6:30 that evening. I’ve never slept so much!
Saturday held some unexpected adventures. I knew that Lloyd was going to an auction, so I went along to get stuff for my kids’ Christmas presents, when Sam texted that he needed to go to Omaha. Woo-hoo! I’m always up for that.
I ran some errands beforehand: an unfruitful search for socks, an interesting visit to Trader Joe’s, and met up with Sam at Michael’s to buy photo frames for my kids. Fun fact, but don’t tell him: Sam is surprisingly fun to shop with.
We stole Lloyd from his auction and met up with Rachel and Anna at a car place to test drive the Batmobile for Gracen. Seriously, the car they were looking at, while older and a bit beat-up, was straight out of a movie with all the bells and whistles.
We got on the road to Omaha and stopped at the Holy Family Shrine on the way. I just love that place. The architecture is breathtaking and inspiring. Why can Lutherans make a cool place like that? (You should really click on the link.)
In Omaha, our destination was Duluth Trading Center. I love every single thing in that store, yet also think that it all costs four times what I’m willing to pay. It was so fun looking around, and I even bought a gadget! (Future post.)
Finally, we stopped at Whole Foods. I think that Whole Foods might be akin to IKEA in that nobody wants to spend as long in there as Sam and I do. Lloyd said he thought we were going to leave four times before we actually did. There’s so much stuff, though!
Sunday was busy with services at the nursing home (Lloyd did a great job), setting up and taking down communion at church, then grocery shopping. We didn’t get home until nearly two o’clock, which was irritating. I settled down for a long winter’s nap, but Lloyd had to be all productive and do yard work. Dang it, Lloyd, you’re making me look bad.

Sheesh! So much shopping! Sounds fun! And it also makes me feel lazy. I watched a LOT of tv this weekend…

I was hoping to see you at Christmas at Concordia! But you were too busy…lol!
