This is my colander. I don’t often use it – just for large-scale noodle projects like lasagna, or draining just-washed-and-cut celery like tonight. I also have a little strainer with a handle for ramen and macaroni noodles, but it has no style like this guy.
See that melted bottom? I did that. Years ago, I foolishly drained noodles, put the colander on top of the hot pot and put the pot back on the burner (which was still on). Mmmmm….. the yummy smell of burning plastic lingers to this day. Anyway, I wanted you to see it. Sometimes I look at shiny new colanders at the kitchen stores, but all I need is this deformed, ugly, ‘special’ one.
Does anyone know if I’m spelling colander right?
