I love thunderstorms and bad weather. I can’t think too much about the devastation or I start getting all sad over the cows and pets who may get pelted by hail and the farmers who are having seed washed away. But hey – as long as my mind’s a blank – I love it!
We had a pretty good storm tonight. I made an avocado sandwich (Wheat bread, Italian dressing, stone ground mustard…. and a little salt – don’t tell Lloyd) and watched the madness.
Here’s some of the hail – I waited too long to see if there was any left, so it melted a bit. We had some quarter-sized pieces, but I didn’t want to stand out there with a quarter for size reference during the storm. My sandwich might have gotten** wet.

** I agonized over using ‘gotten’ in that sentence. In eighth grade Mrs. Hansen, the world’s scariest English teacher, tore into me for saying it. “Gotten?!?!” she screamed, “GOTTEN?!?!” I’m sure she scoffed more but I’ve successfully blocked it from my memory. Anyway, it IS the appropriate use, so sit on it, Miss Hansen. I wish you hadn’t gotten so beserko. http://www-personal.umich.edu/~jlawler/aue/gotten.htmlÂ
