Our exile – Day Two

April 7, 2007

Journal, Lauren

I’m just kidding.  I actually like being home with no demands on my time.  It suits my inner hermit.   Lloyd has spent most of his time unconscious, due to the active ingredient in his medicine that causes ‘marked drowsiness’.  Here’s my favorite picture – I took his book out of his hand, but his hand stayed in this postion for half an hour:

Invisible book of dreams

I spent my day eating Zicam tablets like they were Tic-Tacs (the candy, not the cat), and working on taking down the rest of that stupid border.  Remember back when I said it would be done by Easter?  That was a joke, but it looks like I might not make that ridiculously long deadline.   Cricket’s been a big help, though.

Ladder Cat, Ladder Cat, How'd you learn to climb like that?

My plan is to paint a tan-ish border where the old border was, then paint some words on it.  I’m a big fan of words on walls.  I’ll take any great quote suggestions, though I can’t promise to use them.  Ideas?

That’s exactly how I look when I am reading -- no book, eyes closed. :+) Ask my friends!
(I hope my wink worked. I hate that we can’t see it before we click on “add comment”. I love learning new things!)

    Help Karla!

Do just the semicolon followed immediately by the right parenthesis (spelling?). 😉

  5. Michele Said on:

Ohhhhh -- I thought the + sign was part of the whole thingy. 😉 Thanks for the rescue. BTW -- A+ on your spelling!

How about a nice historical quote like, “Tonight we dine in HELL!!” Sorry, my son has been going around the house quoting lines from “300” non-stop … and they’re the only quotes in my head! (“This is madness? This is SPARTA!!”; ”
“Give them nothing, but take from them everything>”) Please make it stop!

    A Monty Python reference:
“He who is valiant and pure of spirit may find the Holy Grail in the Castle of Aaaaarrrgh…”

    Indiana Jones reference:
    “The penitent man shall pass.”

    The Hobbit reference:
“A box without hinges, key or lid, yet golden treasure inside is hid.”

    Simpsons reference:
“You’ll have to speak up, I’m wearing a towel”

    Beth reference:
“Some day, when I get older, older than you, I… am going… to kill… you.”

That was a question for Brad? I can’t believe Beth would ever say such a thing!
