I just finished reading French Women Don’t Get Fat. I’d seen the author on t.v. a while ago and was curious, plus I thought it might have some healthy low-salt ideas. Her basic premise is that France has a culture that encourages eating smaller portions of fresh foods (rather than giant portions of crap), drinking more water and moving your body a little everyday. I can get on board with all that, it’s pretty common sense. The part I liked best, though, was how you should drink a glass or two of wine every day. It has health benefits, blah blah blah. She drinks champagne because 1) she likes it, 2) she says it makes every day into a party and 3) she’s the CEO for a champagne company.
Ok! I can do this! At my next trip to Wally World I bought some – the cheapest they have, as is my custom. I have a nifty top/collar/cork-thing that preserves the bubbles so I was prepared to have this bottle last a week. No, no, no – the good people who bottled my champagne had the good sense to put a screw-top on it! Yep, my beer is Miller High Life – the Champagne of Beers, now my bubbly is Andre – the Beer of Champagnes.

Champagne and beer. Both of them could come in white labled containers with the words “Champagne” and “Beer” on the side and they’d be fine with me. I don’t have a discerning palat…however, I do prefer Asti to champagne. It’s sweeter.
At this point in pregnancy…I’d take just about any alcohol anyone has on hand…

My favorite chapagne is called “strawberry milk”.
Mmmm… strawberry milk…
It’s got calcium, protein, and vitamins A, C, and D. PLUS, some kind of pink food coloring! I’m sure there’s some kind of health benefit to pink food coloring.

I have to agree here … except for one small change … chocolate milk! There are chocolate cows you know! All natural …

How big are the glasses?
Karla says
Those are regular size glasses -- that’s a honkin’ big bottle of bubbly!
