Journal, Lauren, Lloyd

First, a Father’s Day joke:

An old man lived alone. He wanted to spade his potato garden, but it was very hard work. His only son, who used to help him, was in jail. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament:

Dear Son,
I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my potato garden this year. I’m just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If you were here, all my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me.
Love, Dad

A few days later he received a letter from his son.

Dear Dad,
For heaven’s sake, don’t dig up the garden plot, that’s where I buried the bodies!!
Love, Son

At 4 a.m. the next morning, the local police showed up and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologized to the old man and left. A few days later the old man received another letter from his son.

Dear Dad,
Go ahead and plant the potatoes now. That’s the best I could do under the circumstances.
Love, Son

Happy Father’s Day, Dads!! Now, on to our story:

We have a children’s museum in Lincoln and everyone… fed the goats, played in the eagle’s nest (the eagles were not amused), was confused by the naked mole rats, howled with the howler monkeys, made fun of the camels, road the train… twice.

I want to feed the baby goat

Here kitty kitty kitty kitty...

The Eagle has landed

Did you see what the monkeys did?

It’s a pretty good zoo
said young Gerold McGrew
and the fellow who runs it
seems proud of it too.

Now with new bonus footage here

I forgot Sam was coming to see you. Zoos are fun with kids.

  2. Brad Said on:

    What did the monkey do?

    • Lauren Said on:

It wasn’t really monkeys up to monkeyshines. It’s a picture from the train -- we sat right behind the locomotive in all it’s stinkiness.

Hey, did you see the bonus footage?

  3. Peggy Said on:

Ha! Great joke! And I LOVE the zoo …although this looks more like a farm. Aren’t all God’s furry creations great (I’m leaving that wide open for someone …)!! And hey, is that one of those healthy popcorn poppers? I hope you fixed it with a good shovel of salt thrown in.

    • Lauren Said on:

We did try salt, and also Ranch dressing, but it really needs some kind of fat to make it stick. This is just like eating packing peanuts, but you can’t beat the ‘wow’ factor!

  4. Brad Said on:

Gracen looks like a miniature Sam! Hehe…

The movie has the perfect soundtrack.
