Let there be delayed light!

Journal, Lauren

One of the light bulbs in the kitchen burnt out a couple of weeks ago, and I finally got around to replacing it. I bought a florescent one, but was worried about it being too bluish or harsh. We have other florescent bulbs around the house, but they’re early models and the colors are too cool. The trouble is, the darn things last forever, so I’ll have to wait to replace them. Anyway, I’m pleasantly surprised by this one. Menards, our local super-hardware place, has a good display of florescent bulbs so you can see what the color will be. It’s much brighter than the rest, and not as yellow, but it’s still a warmish color. That’s good, because the package says I’ll have it for seven years.

I hesitate every time I spell ‘florescent’, because I’m sure it will come out wrong. and darkness was upon the kitchen

The picture makes it look a little green.  Weird.

Yea…I’ll keep paying the ridiculous extra cost for incandescents…I need the yellow lighting so I don’t look so pale and tragic…
    Silly blue lights.

I’m always glad when 1 or 2 bulbs burn out … I hate to be hit with BRIGHT florescent lighting, especially in the morning. My “florescent” is psychology, cholesterol, Egyptian …

We buy the super-packs of florescents at Sams Club. But Leonardo’s mom says that we shouldn’t read by them because it will hurt our eyes. We do anyway.
