Today was a day unlike any other. Lloyd stood out in the freezing (really, 32 degrees), windy cold for an hour and proclaimed his support of Ron Paul with over a dozen other people. How do I know? Because I stood there with them. Sure, I’ll support Ron Paul – as long as it gets Lloyd to go shopping with me afterwards. We had ‘Honk 4 Ron Paul’ signs, so lots of cars honked – woo hoo! Some disagreeable people chose to show their disapproval with the naughty finger, but overall it was a positive experience. Lloyd even got all dressed up for the occasion – haircut, shave, nice coat. It’s like we were on a date. A date with Ron Paul.
Did I mention that it was freezing, and that we were facing the wind? I haven’t been that cold in a long, long time. I must really love Ron Paul, whoever he is. Go Ron Paul!
I’m sure Lloyd will want to mess up this post with his ‘facts’ about the ‘issues’.
Lloyd Here: It’s been a long time since I was that cold. I think it must have been one of the first two Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parades. After the first two we had it down to a science. Just what layers we needed and where, how many pairs of socks, long underwear, sweats… If it was an article of clothing, we wore it.
There were about eight people who didn’t have signs but luckily my 25 yard signs came yesterday. It was a pretty diverse group 6 girls and maybe 9 guys, some little kids too (they were cute). It was mostly people from Lincoln, but there were some from Crete too.
