As I was putting away my hot-glue gun tonight, it occurred to me that we’ve never shown you our drawers. A couple of years ago at one of the surplus auctions we bought an old library card catalog to hold our junk. I insisted that it would fit perfectly in the little nook in one of our closets. I said I was sure of it! (I actually had no idea.) We brought it home, and with the tiniest bit of modification (taking off the baseboards and cramming it in so we’ll have to sell it with the house), it fit like a glove. A really, really tight glove.
We keep all kinds of stuff in it – each in its little labeled drawer, but the drawers aren’t arranged in any logical order. That makes Brad crazy, because when he’s here he’s always looking for scissors, and I move the scissors drawer around.
That is the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen and I’m horribly jealous. I wonder if my dad has one of those stashed in his basement that he’s not using. He might have taken one with him when he left St. Pauls. Hmmm…

OMG!!! I LOVE THE EGG! I think I like that better than the idea of having a card catalog of my own! Great job, Lloyd!
I really just wanted to see if that would work. Well, I also wanted Brad to waste time figuring out how it works.
But where are the scissors?!? *shudder* *shudder* I need some SCISSORS, man! *shudder* *shudder* It’s been too long since I used. I’m starting to feel sick. *shudder*
A few of them have labels that are, perhaps, overly specialized. My two favorites are “decorative stones” and “keys to nothing”.
Does one labe read “Miscellaneous Stuff”
Opps! that should read “label”!
Homes with built-ins are very marketable
Love the “Junk Condo.” I must have one!
Somebody sign in as me & comment will ‘ya … gotta keep my numbers up you know.
Have fun!!
absolutely. think. it. is. awesome. want one now.
What a neat idea. I want one too! hehhe 🙂
I also have no special order to my drawer labeling -- but I understand it. The most-used stuff (Advil, pens, scissors) are at hand-level, and the least-used (sewing kit) on the bottom with heavy things like pliers. 🙂
Nicely fit into that closet!
