A year ago today, Beth gave birth to Tim and the Pester family grew a little. Beth once remarked, “Would you please do one of those that will makes Tim’s first year of life fly by in a minute and a half?” I gave it my best shot, but it’s actually closer to two minutes and a half. Thanks, sneaky Uncle Brad for helping to take photos. Hee hee.
As you all know, my regular tech guy is out of town, so here is a grainy version of the movie. I’ll try to fix it later.

Wonderful. I keep saying that those thingies are why we got our mac. My kids have done it… I’m up next!

AWESOME! That’s how the time should always pass that first year (I know, some people LOVE the infant year…I just don’t happen to be one of them, don’t judge me.).
Thanks. I love it. 😀

I sure don’t judge you. The only payback you have when they’re infants is the “firsts” – first smile, first step, first solid food – which are cool, don’t get me wrong. But they can’t do anything for themselves, they wake up in the middle of the night, and then they get heavy. Once they can move around, they get into everything. Infants are a lot of work. But then the next year, they get heavier, they’re still can’t do anything independently. Then they become terrible two…
I suppose every stage has it’s blessings and it’s curses…
What’s your favorite stage so far?
Mine is probably the second-third-fourth grade period. Young elementary, when they’re learning how to read, and love their teachers, and all of the kids are still pretty nice.

Absolutely no judgement here … that 1st year is a kicker … and I LOL when I read what Deanne said, “And then they get heavy … so true!!!! (I forgot that part)
I also always loved it when they learned to stand (or jump) on your lap & would occasionally pinch a piece of that tender piece of your thigh against the chair … good feeling!

The infant year was NOT my favorite, either. I felt like I was permanently attached to the chair where I sat to nurse each of the boys! Plus, NONE of my 3 boys slept through the night until they were over a year old, so I was (and continue to be!) sooooo tired!
It’s fun to see each of them grow up and move through each new stage. Having a 1st grader and a Kindergartener this past year was a lot of fun. Ian had a great time talking with Brighton about “what he did in Kindergarten when HE was in it” and letting Brighton in on what to expect from 1st grade. I think that this next year will be harder as I NEVER had to work with Ian on spelling or memory work and he always got things right, but Brighton will need more “study time”… I’m so not ready for homework…
Happy Birthday, Tim!
