Thinking outside the pump.

July 11, 2008 by Lauren 9 Comments

Such a lovely new countertop requires some new accessories, and it was probably time to ditch the three-year old Bath and Body Works pump I’d been refilling with cheap soap.   When we picked up Lloyd in Omaha yesterday we stopped at The Gadgeteer where they have all kinds of cool stuff.  (Yes, Brad wrote about it yesterday.  Bear with me.)  I wanted to get a new soap dispenser, but not just any old thing – something new, something different!  The boys helped me find this:

But I don’t serve salad in the bathroom.

It’s a silicone drip baster by Swissmar, and now it’s helping to baste our hands in soapy goodness!  Washing your hands feels like you’re doing a science experiment!

Drip, drip drop little April showers… (know that song?)

Lloyd says we need a different color of soap.  Any suggestions?

Oh, how different; I like it. I have a thing about soap pumps, because if you buy the pretty one, it’s guaranteed to leak out the screw part. Baster-dripper = no leaks. Any drips?

Since the container is sciencey looking, I think you should use some freaky looking soap. Something with speckles in it? …something pearly-swirly?

By the way, your hand model in the second picture has wonderful hands!

Ha! Love your title! And love the dispenser!

I say go with some neon color … something that glows in the dark … then it could be used as a night light too! You can do it Lauren! Can’t wait to see your soap creature.

    And btw Lauren …

If you’re ever feeling bad ’cause you ain’t got no Ikea,
And you’re sad because your donuts gave you some nasty diarrhea,
Just remember you got something that the rest of us desire,
It’s something I sure hope my home state one day will acquire,
So keep smiling all day long, I’m being totally sincere,
Be happy ’cause you got that super awesome GADGETEER!!
