Heck, yeah.

Guess what came in the mail?

All plastics!! 1 - 7!!

The good people at the Lincoln Journal-Star have a curbside recycling program that now extends to our little town of Seward.  You subscribe ($12 a month) and they’ll give you a tub and tote away your recyclables once a week!  Woo-hoo!!  No sorting (I think), and they’ll take glass and all kinds of plastic!  Totally, totally worth it to me.  I’ll actually get some of my basement floor back since we always wait way too long to go to the local recycling center. I’m actually considering canceling my regular garbage collection, except for all that dumb cat litter we throw in there.  You don’t think they can recycle that, do you?

Congratulations! I think you might find that you need more than one tub. I still sometimes throw away recylclables because my recycle can is packed full.

And I think you should press the cat litter into bricks and build something with them. That would be cool.

Then we could build that addition onto the back of the house!

Crown Town now has 64-gallon rollable recycle receptors that they’ve given to everyone in town who wants it. It looks nice at the curb with our 96-gallon garbage can (for diapers).

Crown Town? Are you all royalty and I didn’t know it? I apologize for my oversight, Your Highness.

You didn’t see my glittery crown at the reunion? I don’t know how you missed it!

I’m pretty sure my friend Jill’s brother-in-law has something to do with that effort. Something important. But you’ll have to ask her.

(And heck, if it’s curbside, I might even recycle!)

Yep, Beth’s right. My BIL started the LJS recycling program. We love it and if it wasn’t for diapers, we would probably cancel our trash pick up. They pick up almost EVERYTHING, Lauren. You will definitely need more tubs. We have 2, but could easily use 2-3 more. It’s so awesome. Happy recycling!

Excellent! How do I get the second tub if I need it? I signed up online, so I’ve never spoken to a person.
