Today was the first time I drove to work in months. Months, I tell you. It wasn’t even because of the weather, but because I had parent-teacher conferences and didn’t want to walk home and back in a small amount of time. But it started raining in the afternoon, and the rain turned to freezing rain, and then I left work to find ice on the windshield. What is this, winter?
Hey, in other news, the CDC site has officially gone public! Check it out if you like.
Brad says
You should just leave your truck running all day to keep it warm and ice free. Better yet, you could invent something that uses tealights to keep the windshield clear. Get to work, Professor!
Lloyd says
A gallon of gas will idle the truck for about hour and a half, so it would take less than 7 gallons to run the truck all day. So, maybe $15.00 a day (not counting the car thefts).

Deanne got bumped again -- I don’t know what the deal is.
“Hey, that’s almost what it costs for parking & metro here. A bargain!”
Sorry, Deanne!
Annette says
Annoying, perhaps….but it really is beautiful! And, just think of all the science,(and first aid), the children will have at their fingertips today! Consider the photo posts for our new website…
Lauren's dad says
We have clouds.
Karla says
So Lloyd, how was your appointment with the cardiologist? You promised me in September that you were going to go back for a check-up….
Lloyd says
I vaguely recall making that promise, but, in my defense, I was drinking heavily at the time.
Annette says
Margaritas with a lot of salt around the rim??
Karla says
Well, now you’ve been reminded again. Get in gear and make that appointment, today!
This is a similar pep talk that I have with Arron to see his neurologist and neurosurgeon -- I’m good at it, so don’t even bother trying to get out of going. I will come kick your butt.
Vera says
I would have thought ice on the windshield an amazing sight! 🙂
kiwe says
It is cool! Maybe you could take an intertube and slide down it!
Peggy says
Maybe you should just remove your windshied all together so you don’t have to scrape it ever again…pesky scaping…
Curt says
Some of you may know this, but if you put rain-x on your windows and windshield in the winter, it is much easier to scrape ice and frost. I am sure there are some other remedies out there. Cardboard, etc. Peggy has the best solution though.
