First of all, Happy Birthday to my brother Phil!
I’m sure it will surprise no one that I do not have a good grasp on world events. (or local events, for that matter) Being a hermit means that I am pretty content just doin’ what I do and not worrying about the rest of the world. However, every so often in preschool a question comes up regarding a foreign place, and Mrs. Sommerer has to foolishly stumble with our giant world atlas and admit that no, she’s not really sure where Bolivia is, and yes – it does rhyme with Olivia.
So I’m working on fixing that. I found an amazingly fun site that will beat the stupid out of me while I’m having fun! I’ve pretty much mastered Asia, North America and South America, but I am losing hope with the rest of the world. Europe and Africa are beyond me besides the big countries, and I defy you to learn the Australia page with Oceania’s gazillion islands! Well, I don’t defy you, I defy me. Maybe over the course of a year. Maybe.
Do you want to know how really stupid I am? When I decided to learn North America I thought, “How hard could it be? There are only -like – three countries, right?” 🙂
Brad says
I know Asia better than I thought. Or else I’m a good guesser. 72.5% That’s passing, right?
Brad says
I’m at school now. I just got 77.5% on the Middle East. And approximately 12 papers not graded so far, thank you very much.
Lauren says
You’re welcome. 😀

Show off!
Lloyd says
I didn’t do so well, and I’m blaming Yugoslavia and the USSR for that.
Deanne says
Having fun getting smart… the Holy Grail
Brady G. says
45% on Asia. Take that!
Lauren says
I had to play a dozen times before I hit 45%.
Peggy says
Oh that makes me feel better! (but are you just kidding?)
After I pulle myself out of the hole of humiliation, I went looking for an easier quizz…and found one for kids. I started out great, but ended up with a 62%. What the…who are these kids? Maybe I would do well with a quizz for the unborn.
Lauren says
I am not kidding at all. Also, if you knew the mnemonics I was using to remember these countries, you’d laugh out loud. Lloyd is sick of watching me say “MaLAYsia” and swing my arms like a hammock. Latin America takes me on a whole one-woman play.
Peggy says
Ugh…I think the colors threw me off…yea, that’s it!
