This is our 950th post. Good thing we have a thrilling topic like: We just watched disc one of the first season of Twin Peaks. (Thank you, Netflix.)
Did anyone watch this when it was really on? I hadn’t, and it was worth it just for the 1990 hair – all the poofiness of the 80’s with the beginning oddness of the 90’s. Spoilesr alert: Laura Palmer is dead! Laura Flynn Boyle is three months younger than me! The detective is the guy from the Dune movie!
Lloyd felt strongly that this post should have a picture, but I am still sitting on my butt on the sofa and have no plan to get up. Let’s try something in Paint on the laptop.
Oh yeah. It’s like a photo!

So…you, the TV and the plant are shining superstars, but the dinosaur and flower get nothing? What gives?
(Heh. You draw better in paint than I do in real life. Amazing.)
Lauren says
The dinosaur and the flower are out to get the rest of us. No shining for them! 🙂

Does anybody on that show have the “Q-Tip” cut, or was that later in the nineties? You know, it’s that style guys had where their head was shaved all around but there was some hair left on top?
Lauren says
So far, no. It’s set in Wisconsin or Minnesota, so they all look like midwesterners. One of the mean teenagers looks like Kevin Bacon in Footloose.

I never watched Twin Peaks, which is odd because isn’t it a show that’s a little weird…I’m all into weird. Please update us & let us know how you liked it.
And I love the way you two sit so straight & tall while watching. Must be a teacher thing. (I tend to recline)
LOVE LOVE the drawing!

I liked the pilot that we saw, but I don’t know if that was the first episode. This disc just had the pilot and an international version of the pilot. I moved the next disc to the top of the Netflix queue.

May I suggest you check out Dead Like Me. It was on Showtime for two seasons before it was cancelled. It was excellent! It was along the lines of Arrested Development in respect to being critically acclaimed, but not popular. I think Arron and I watched the entire first season in a weekend we enjoyed it so much.
